Wildflower meadows are one of the rarest habitats in the UK and we have lost 97% of our wild flower meadows since the 1930s. In Spring 2019 we began to transform of a piece of land in Gloucestershire into a vibrant wild flower meadow.
The project aims to increase the bio-diversity of the area and provide shelter and food for important pollinators. A programme of activities with local artists, scientists and the community will be announced for Summer 2019. These events will explore how wildness, in context of the wild flower meadow, can support people to feel a greater connection to nature and promote positive mental health and wellbeing.
This project is supported by a Bags of Help grant from Tesco
