You can download the iPhone app here on the iTunes store!
We've been busy working with beacon technology the past few weeks developing an iPhone app to accompanying our audio installation, Mind's Eye in partnership with mobile and beacon technology experts Dot3.
The final leg of the Mind's Eye tour in Manchester (22 - 31 Oct) is our practical RnD phase for utilising beacon tech and developing the app and curating content to complement the currently, analog radio experience.
The app intersperses factual, historical and cultural references about humanity’s search to understand the mysteries of our solar system and encourage audience’s think about where space exploration will take us next?
The audio installation is free to attend and the app is free to download. The app employs beacon technology so it can react to your location and nudge you to interact with the library - from delving into video archive footage to finding hidden messages in leather bound physics books in the reference section!
When developing a digital product or experience there's always a temptation to bring out a 'final' product for users, but we're keen to test, iterate and rework our initial proposition with audiences whilst we're in the majestic Manchester Central Library.
If you're interested in beacons we'll be doing a final 'sprint' on Friday 30th & Saturday 31st, and would be delighted to get your input and feedback.
